VERSION 1.0
EFFECTIVE DATE: SEPTEMBER 29, 2026
EXPLORE SAFELY.
VAULT Experiences happen in the real world.
Stay aware of your surroundings, follow local laws and use good judgment at all times.
Never:
- use VAULT while driving;
- cross a street while looking at your phone;
- enter traffic to capture content or complete a checkpoint;
- trespass;
- enter restricted, closed or unsafe areas;
- ignore venue, staff or safety instructions; or
- put yourself or another person at risk to complete a VAULT Experience.
A VAULT IS NEVER WORTH PUTTING YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE AT RISK.
If a checkpoint cannot safely be completed, do not attempt it. Use an available alternative verification option or contact VAULT support.
These Safety & Participation terms (the “Safety Terms”) apply when you participate in experiences through VAULT.
VAULT is operated by VAULT WORLD INC., a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (“VAULT WORLD INC.,” “VAULT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Safety Terms apply together with the VAULT Terms of Use.
1. YOUR SAFETY COMES FIRST
Completing a VAULT Experience, checkpoint, photograph or reward requirement is never more important than your safety or the safety of another person.
If you believe an activity, route, location or checkpoint is unsafe, inaccessible, closed, restricted or inappropriate to enter, do not proceed.
You will not be expected to place yourself or another person in danger merely to complete a VAULT Experience.
Where available, use an alternative verification method or contact VAULT for assistance.
2. STAY AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
VAULT Experiences may involve moving through cities, public spaces, businesses, venues or other physical locations.
While participating, you must remain aware of:
- traffic;
- pedestrians;
- bicycles and other vehicles;
- stairs, curbs and uneven surfaces;
- weather;
- construction;
- crowds;
- venue conditions;
- posted warnings;
- restricted areas; and
- other conditions around you.
Do not become so focused on your device, a photograph, a checkpoint or a reward that you stop paying attention to your surroundings.
3. DO NOT USE VAULT WHILE DRIVING
Do not interact with VAULT while operating a motor vehicle, bicycle, scooter or other vehicle where device use would be unsafe or unlawful.
If you need to check VAULT, navigate to a checkpoint, capture content or complete another interaction, stop in a safe and lawful place before using your device.
Never attempt to complete a checkpoint while actively operating a vehicle.
4. STREETS AND TRAFFIC
Do not cross a street while looking at your device.
Do not enter a roadway, bicycle lane, railway area or other traffic path to:
- capture a photograph;
- improve a photograph;
- verify your location;
- reach a checkpoint;
- scan a code;
- obtain a reward; or
- complete any other VAULT activity.
Follow traffic signals, pedestrian crossings and applicable local laws.
If the safest route differs from what appears to be the shortest route to a checkpoint, take the safe route.
5. PRIVATE, RESTRICTED AND UNSAFE AREAS
VAULT does not authorize you to enter property or areas that are not lawfully accessible to you.
You must not:
- trespass;
- enter staff-only areas;
- enter construction areas;
- enter service corridors or loading areas;
- cross barriers or locked gates;
- enter rooftops or other restricted spaces;
- climb structures not designed and expressly permitted for public use;
- enter closed venues; or
- ignore signs restricting access.
A checkpoint appearing near a restricted area does not mean that VAULT authorizes entry into that area.
If you cannot reach a checkpoint through a lawful and reasonably safe route, do not attempt to reach it.
6. THIRD-PARTY VENUES
Some VAULT Experiences take place at or involve third-party businesses, venues, public spaces or other locations.
You must comply with applicable:
- venue rules;
- staff instructions;
- operating hours;
- entry requirements;
- age requirements;
- capacity limits;
- security procedures;
- accessibility requirements; and
- health and safety procedures.
Do not interfere with employees, customers, venue operations or members of the public while participating in a VAULT Experience.
A venue may deny or limit access in accordance with its own lawful policies.
VAULT does not control every condition at third-party premises.
7. PHOTOS AND CONTENT CAPTURE
Some VAULT Experiences may ask you to capture a photograph as part of a checkpoint.
Do not take a photograph where doing so would be unsafe, unlawful or prohibited by the applicable venue.
Do not:
- step into traffic to capture content;
- climb or balance on unsafe objects;
- enter a restricted area for a better photograph;
- interfere with other people;
- disregard venue photography rules; or
- put yourself or someone else at risk for a photograph.
If the required photo cannot reasonably and safely be captured, use an available alternative verification method or contact VAULT support.
8. ALTERNATIVE VERIFICATION
Some checkpoints may offer an alternative method of verifying participation for users who cannot or do not wish to capture the required photograph or who cannot safely complete the standard verification method.
Alternative verification may include a code or another method presented through VAULT.
Alternative verification must be used honestly.
You must not:
- falsify verification;
- share verification codes improperly;
- use another person's verification to falsely complete a checkpoint;
- distribute restricted codes publicly; or
- manipulate alternative verification to obtain rewards or completion credit without legitimate participation.
VAULT may invalidate fraudulent checkpoint completions, rewards or redemptions.
9. ACCESSIBILITY
Physical locations used in VAULT Experiences may vary in accessibility.
VAULT may provide information or alternative verification options where available, but third-party venues and public spaces may have conditions outside VAULT's direct control.
If a checkpoint presents an accessibility barrier, do not attempt an unsafe workaround.
Use an available alternative verification option or contact VAULT for assistance.
10. WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Weather and environmental conditions can change.
Do not continue participating where conditions make participation unsafe.
This may include:
- severe weather;
- extreme heat or cold;
- flooding;
- ice;
- poor visibility;
- unsafe air conditions;
- emergencies;
- hazardous construction conditions; or
- other circumstances that make travel or participation unreasonable.
VAULT may pause, modify, relocate or cancel an experience or checkpoint where reasonably necessary because of weather, safety or other conditions.
The absence of a cancellation notice does not mean that you should continue participating where conditions appear unsafe.
11. PERSONAL JUDGMENT
VAULT cannot anticipate every circumstance you may encounter in the real world.
You are responsible for using reasonable judgment when deciding whether and how to participate.
If something feels unsafe, appears unlawful, conflicts with official instructions or requires you to take an unreasonable risk, do not do it.
Contact VAULT if you believe a checkpoint has been placed or configured in a way that creates a safety or accessibility concern.
12. REWARDS DO NOT JUSTIFY RISK
No reward, product, access opportunity, completion status or other benefit offered through VAULT requires you to disregard safety.
Do not take an unreasonable risk because:
- a reward is limited;
- an experience is about to close;
- inventory may run out;
- another participant has completed the checkpoint;
- you want to complete your VAULT; or
- you believe a reward may be valuable.
Safety takes priority over completion and rewards.
13. EMERGENCIES
VAULT is not an emergency service.
VAULT does not provide emergency medical, police, fire, rescue or other emergency assistance.
If you experience or witness an emergency, immediate danger or serious injury, stop using VAULT and contact the appropriate local emergency service.
Do not wait for VAULT support to respond to an emergency.
14. REPORTING A SAFETY ISSUE
If you encounter a VAULT checkpoint or experience that appears unsafe, inaccessible, incorrectly located, closed or otherwise unsuitable for participation, you may report it to VAULT.
Where appropriate, VAULT may:
- investigate the issue;
- temporarily disable a checkpoint;
- provide alternative verification;
- update instructions;
- relocate or remove a checkpoint;
- communicate with the applicable participating Brand or venue; or
- take other reasonable action.
Reports involving an immediate emergency should be directed to local emergency services first.
15. ORDINARY RISKS OF REAL-WORLD PARTICIPATION
VAULT Experiences take place in real-world environments.
Walking or travelling through public spaces, visiting third-party locations, attending events and participating in physical experiences involve ordinary risks that can arise in everyday life.
These may include risks associated with:
- traffic and transportation;
- crowds;
- weather;
- public spaces;
- stairs and uneven surfaces;
- third-party premises;
- other members of the public; and
- conditions outside VAULT's reasonable control.
By voluntarily participating in a VAULT Experience, you acknowledge that these ordinary real-world risks may exist and agree to exercise reasonable care for your own safety.
You are responsible for deciding whether conditions are appropriate for you to participate.
16. ASSUMPTION OF ORDINARY PARTICIPATION RISK
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you voluntarily assume the ordinary and reasonably apparent risks inherent in your voluntary participation in real-world VAULT Experiences.
This assumption of ordinary participation risk does not mean that you waive every legal right or that VAULT is relieved from responsibility where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Safety Terms excludes or limits liability for matters that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. PARTICIPATING PARTNERS AND VENUES
VAULT Experiences may be created, sponsored, supported or operated in collaboration with third-party Brands, businesses, venues, organizations or other partners.
Those parties may independently control their:
- premises;
- employees;
- products;
- services;
- venue operations;
- security procedures; and
- physical conditions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, VAULT WORLD INC. is not the owner or operator of those third-party premises.
VAULT's provision of the technology and participation platform does not make VAULT responsible for every condition or action at an independently operated location.
Nothing in this section limits liability that applicable law imposes directly on VAULT WORLD INC.
18. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
You are responsible for your own conduct while participating in a VAULT Experience.
You must not intentionally create a safety risk for:
- yourself;
- another participant;
- venue staff;
- members of the public;
- participating Brands; or
- property.
VAULT may suspend or terminate participation or account access where a user engages in dangerous, unlawful, fraudulent or materially disruptive conduct.
19. MINORS
Users aged 14 to 17 who participate in eligible VAULT Experiences are subject to the same safety requirements as other participants.
Age eligibility to use VAULT does not mean that every physical venue, product, event, reward or activity available through a VAULT Experience is appropriate or legally available to every user.
Individual experiences may have additional age or entry requirements.
Users must comply with those requirements.
VAULT may restrict access to an experience, checkpoint or reward based on age where required by law, venue rules or campaign eligibility.
20. RELATIONSHIP TO THE VAULT TERMS OF USE
These Safety Terms apply together with the VAULT Terms of Use.
The VAULT Terms of Use contain additional provisions concerning platform availability, third-party locations, rewards, liability, account conduct and other aspects of participation.
If a particular VAULT Experience includes additional safety instructions, you must also follow those instructions.
21. CHANGES TO THESE SAFETY TERMS
VAULT may update these Safety Terms as the platform evolves, new types of experiences are introduced or safety or legal requirements change.
When these Safety Terms are updated, we will update the effective date.
Where a material change affects your rights or responsibilities, VAULT may provide additional notice or require renewed acceptance where appropriate.
